About DPF
The Denton Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing, preserving, and advocating for Denton’s parks, trails, and recreational spaces. We believe parks are essential to a healthy, connected, and vibrant community—places where people of all ages can gather, play, and thrive.
Through fundraising, partnerships, and community events, the Foundation supports projects and programs that improve access to outdoor recreation, strengthen neighborhood connections, and enrich quality of life across Denton. From playground improvements and park enhancements to inclusive programming and community celebrations, our work helps ensure Denton’s parks continue to serve current and future generations.
As a community-driven organization, we collaborate with residents, local businesses, and the City of Denton to invest in public spaces that reflect the spirit and diversity of our city. Together, we are building stronger parks and a stronger Denton.

Denton resident’s lives are enriched by our city’s outstanding parks system that includes parks and trails, playgrounds, bridges, pavilions, sports facilities, recreation centers and gyms, and too many classes to count. We are committed to meeting the needs and expectations of the community and helping fill the gap that exists when the needs surpass the tax dollars available.
Our parks need us now more than ever.
City of Denton parks have been safe spaces for play, community engagement, and our mental and physical health. While trying to keep physically distant, parks have been the ideal place to visit with others and get outside. There’s certainly a renewed love of parks! We can help make parks better.

Friend of the Parks is the Denton Parks Foundation’s membership program that supports the parks, trails, and recreational spaces that make Denton special. By giving monthly or annually, you help fund park improvements, community programs, and events that benefit residents of all ages.
