How We Operate

The Denton Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for providing strategic direction, fiscal oversight, and policy guidance. The Foundation operates independently while working in close collaboration with the City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department to support, enhance, and expand parks, recreation programs, and public spaces for the Denton community.

The Foundation receives funding through private donations, corporate and individual sponsorships, grants, and a variety of fundraising activities. These funds are used to supplement public resources by supporting park improvements, recreational programming, special projects, and community initiatives that may not be fully funded through municipal budgets.

Through its partnership with the City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department, the Denton Parks Foundation aligns its fundraising and grant-making efforts with identified community needs and departmental priorities. This collaborative approach ensures that resources are used efficiently and effectively to promote accessible, high-quality parks and recreation opportunities that enhance quality of life for all residents.
