About the Park
This small pocket park serves as a compact public space for gathering, performance, and reflection. The site occupies land that was part of Denton’s original 1856 town survey and was once the location of the Poultry House & Feed, reflecting its long history within the city’s early commercial core.
Today, the park features a public art installation honoring the Denton Women’s Interracial Fellowship, recognizing their efforts to advance civic improvements such as street paving and to support racial desegregation in Denton’s history. The space also includes a small bandstand designed to support live performances by solo artists, small groups, and community performers.
The park is also home to seasonal community programming, including Twilight Tunes, a fall concert series hosted by the Denton Downtown Foundation that brings live music and performances to the space. Located just steps from the Denton Square, the park is surrounded by local dining and shopping options that complement its role as a downtown gathering space.
Park Experience
The park functions as an accessible, walkable gathering space in the heart of downtown. Visitors use it for casual seating, short breaks, and enjoying public art, while the bandstand supports informal musical performances and cultural programming.
Its intimate scale and central location make it a flexible space for both everyday use and community expression.
