About the Park
Bowling Green Park and Community Garden is an 18-acre neighborhood green space that combines outdoor recreation with hands-on gardening. The park features a community garden, fruit orchard, and open space designed for everyday use by Denton residents.
The orchard includes a variety of fruit trees such as peaches, pears, apples, plums, apriums, pomegranates, and pecans. When fruit is in season, visitors are welcome to harvest and enjoy it. Pecans typically become available after the first hard frost.
Park Improvements
The park is currently undergoing planned improvements to enhance accessibility, comfort, and overall visitor experience. Renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
During this time, some areas of the park may have limited access.
Community Garden Status 🌱
The community garden is fully booked for the 2025 growing season.
As part of the park improvements, the garden will be closed throughout 2026, and garden plots will not be available during construction.
New garden plots are expected to reopen for rental in early 2027. Residents are encouraged to check back for updates and future availability.
