About the Park
Mack Park is a 21.62-acre community park in east Denton that serves as a major hub for youth sports, recreation, and neighborhood gatherings. The park includes baseball fields, playgrounds, and open gathering areas supported by a range of visitor amenities such as seating, shaded spaces, and concession facilities.
The park is named in memory of Warren Bryan Mack, who passed away in 1952 at the age of 56. The naming was made by his wife, Pauline Mack, who was a significant academic leader at the Texas State College for Women (now Texas Woman’s University). She is credited with helping guide the institution toward becoming a research-focused university.
A central feature of the park is Roberts Field, a lighted baseball complex that allows games to continue into the evening. The quality lighting system makes night games a defining and enjoyable part of the park experience for both players and spectators.
Recent improvements to the Roberts Baseball Complex have further enhanced the facility for community use. The complex now supports a full range of amenities across its adult and youth fields, including upgraded lighting, improved playing surfaces, and enhanced spectator areas such as bleachers and seating. These updates have strengthened both player performance conditions and overall visitor experience.
Park Experience
Mack Park is especially popular for baseball and organized sports, with Roberts Field serving as its primary attraction. The lighted fields make evening games a major part of the park’s activity, creating a lively and well-supported sports environment after sunset.
Beyond athletics, the park also supports family outings and group gatherings, with playgrounds, basketball courts, and picnic areas offering space for everyday recreation. Its combination of upgraded sports facilities and accessible amenities makes it one of Denton’s most active and community-centered parks.
