How’s Your Play Coming Along?

Denton has 44 wonderful parks to play in but sometimes with the unpredictable Texas weather, you have to get creative with your play. As we navigate the #30DayParksAndPlayChallenge we’ve found some fun ways to find play even in wet places and spaces.

#1

Put on the rain jacket and boots, grab a toy, and head to the park! Even in the wet weather toys can go an adventure and kids can use their imagination with a fun trip to the park. Send toys down the slide and see how fast it makes it to the bottom.

#2

Want to knock out two of life’s greatest gifts, the outdoors and service?

Don’t let damp weather stop you from making a difference and being outdoors. Go to any City of Denton Park and bring with you a bag and gloves for picking up trash. When it’s raining, those boots are even more helpful in cleaning up our creeks!

You can even make this park trip educational to boot and school kids on the importance of watershed protection in our community. Everyone wins!

#3

When the playground isn’t dry but your imagination is still wild, use the soft ground as your canvas and sticks as your brushes. Everyone as a Park Picasso in them! Show us your masterpieces and tag us with #ParkPicasso!
